Week 2 of Sectionals in Indiana High School Football

Hello Sports Fans

With this being Semi Finals week of the Sectionals for Indiana High School Football, 4 of my 6 teams I cover are still playing. Marion and Ben Davis lost last week.

Games tonight feature a rematch between Hamilton SouthEastern and Fishers at HSE. The 2 schools are just 3 miles apart. HSE is 5-0 at home against Fishers. Fishers has a top notch defensive linemen named Ryan Coleman, who is 6'1" and 231. HSE has a running back that is D1  material named Ryan Ripp, who stands 6ft tall and weighs in at 204. This should be a great game

Pike travels to Zionsville, after avenging and an earlier lose to Ben Davis last week to advance to tonight's game.

Then we have undefeated Lawrence Central playing always dangerous Warren Central, who is coming in at 5-5, after a 3 overtime win at Carmel last week 31-24.

Winners move on to Sectional Finals next week.

With the Basketball season about to start I will be profiling the players of Indiana Math and Science Academy Tigers. This is the school my son Andre II plays for. I hope to have a little video clip of some of this years returning players. Be on the lookout for that.

Blessings and Peace,

Andre'

Indiana High School Football Sectional's

Hello Sports Fans

I am just getting around to writing my weekly blog, because I was so frustrated at the Marion game I went to last week, I had to cool off a bit before I wrote something I might regret. Bare with me as I attempt to say the right thing ;)

First of all I did go to the game in Muncie Central, to watch Marion play. I got there and I missed Will's only run. He was limping on the sideline the rest of the evening. The Giants was holding their own, by moving the ball up and down the field pretty well, but it is hard to stop a team that is moving the ball just as well and starting most of their drives on the 50 yardline. Every single time Marion scored, the coach decided that an onside kick was the thing to do. Why?

Why do an onside kick after every score? It would be different if you were getting the ball, but not once did the Giants recover any of the onside kicks, but the coach continued to do them. Why? Did you not want to win? Why put a defense in that type of situation throughout the whole game? Muncie scored 51 points, with the same guy running the ball continuously and getting half the field to do it.

After last weeks game which the Giants lost 51-40, and some of the other games, with questionable coaching calls that would make you wonder, I hope the coach proves tonight, to the players and administration that he wants to win and see this program succeed.

Marion finished the season at 4-5 and travel to New Haven 7-2 for the beginning of Sectional play.

Pike went to Franklin Central last week and beat them 21-6 to finish the season at 6-3. Pike has a rematch in their first game of the Sectionals tonight against Ben Davis.

BD finished their regular season at 8-1, by beating Carmel on the road 13-7. BD did beat Pike earlier in the season.

Fishers lost to Brownsburg last week 31-0 to finish their regular season at 6-3. They travel to Anderson tonight for their first Sectional game.

The surprise team to most I am sure, Lawrence Central, finished the regular season unbeaten, by averaging 42points a game and only giving up 8. Last week they beat Bloomington North 31-7 and play a Southport team tonight that they beat earlier in the season 47-6, in their first game of Sectional play.

Warren Central finished the regular season at 4-5. I don't think since I have been living here in Indianapolis, have I seen Warren with a losing season. They lost last week to Center Grove 8-5, looks like a baseball score. I would think it was a defensive battle though with a score like that. Warren gets a chance to redeem themselves tonight as they play Carmel on the road in their first Sectional game.

Basketball season is just around the corner...

Beware of the Tigers!!!

Blessings and peace,

Andre'

Week 8 of Indiana High School Football

Hello Sports Fans

In the 8th week of Indiana High School Football, Lawrence Central remains undefeated and the Marion Giants coaching staff could not get it done again.

Marion lost to Kokomo 40-22. Personally I just don't think the coaching staff at MHS really understand the game enough to utilize their strength. I may be a bit bias, but I just can only wonder what the outcome of the game would have been if Will would have carried the ball more than 7 times. Even though Riley had a great game, why do you continue to keep the ball out of one of the fastest young men in the state of Indiana, hands.
Marion now 4-4 travel to Muncie Central 2-6 next Friday. I plan to be there.

Lawrence Central remains undefeated at 8-0, by defeating Franklin Central 36-22. LC travels to 2-6 Bloomington North for their final regular season game.

Pike lost to Perry Meridian 18-14. Pike 5-3 is at Franklin Central 4-4. to end their regular season play.

Fishers 6-2  who plays their final regular season game at home against Brownsburg 8-0, beat Lafayette Jeff 28-7.

Warren Central beat Terre Haute South 35-0. WC 4-4 goes to Center Grove 7-1 for their final regular season game.

Ben Davis went to Lawrence North and embarrassed them on their own field 75-0. This has not been a very good year for Lawrence North being outscored 475-60 and no wins.

Sectional pairings have been set and will begin the week after the final season game.

Blessings and peace,

Andre'

Scores and Highlights for week 7

 Hello Sports Fans

Better late than never. I guess in some cases that may be okay, so I am going to use it this time for my post being a little late ;)

I went to the Marion vs Anderson game, which Marion did win 41-28. Marion's offense played very well and the defense held their own as well. Marion tried some new plays to get Will Collins outside, but I don't think they had to change their offense to get him outside, all they had to do was run their regular formations and plays, but use Will as a running back not fullback. Here are a few of his runs from Friday nights game:

Scores from the other games:
Warren Central got beat by Carmel at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sat. 10-7 in overtime.

Ben Davis lost to Center Grove at home 17-14.

Lawrence Central is still undefeated, beating Southport at home 47-6.

Pike blasted Bloomington South at homecoming 56-0.

And Fishers lost to Zionsville at home 35-17.

Thanks to everyone that has visited my blog. The best is yet to come...

Blessings and peace,

Andre'
