Indiana High School Football Sectional's

Hello Sports Fans

I am just getting around to writing my weekly blog, because I was so frustrated at the Marion game I went to last week, I had to cool off a bit before I wrote something I might regret. Bare with me as I attempt to say the right thing ;)

First of all I did go to the game in Muncie Central, to watch Marion play. I got there and I missed Will's only run. He was limping on the sideline the rest of the evening. The Giants was holding their own, by moving the ball up and down the field pretty well, but it is hard to stop a team that is moving the ball just as well and starting most of their drives on the 50 yardline. Every single time Marion scored, the coach decided that an onside kick was the thing to do. Why?

Why do an onside kick after every score? It would be different if you were getting the ball, but not once did the Giants recover any of the onside kicks, but the coach continued to do them. Why? Did you not want to win? Why put a defense in that type of situation throughout the whole game? Muncie scored 51 points, with the same guy running the ball continuously and getting half the field to do it.

After last weeks game which the Giants lost 51-40, and some of the other games, with questionable coaching calls that would make you wonder, I hope the coach proves tonight, to the players and administration that he wants to win and see this program succeed.

Marion finished the season at 4-5 and travel to New Haven 7-2 for the beginning of Sectional play.

Pike went to Franklin Central last week and beat them 21-6 to finish the season at 6-3. Pike has a rematch in their first game of the Sectionals tonight against Ben Davis.

BD finished their regular season at 8-1, by beating Carmel on the road 13-7. BD did beat Pike earlier in the season.

Fishers lost to Brownsburg last week 31-0 to finish their regular season at 6-3. They travel to Anderson tonight for their first Sectional game.

The surprise team to most I am sure, Lawrence Central, finished the regular season unbeaten, by averaging 42points a game and only giving up 8. Last week they beat Bloomington North 31-7 and play a Southport team tonight that they beat earlier in the season 47-6, in their first game of Sectional play.

Warren Central finished the regular season at 4-5. I don't think since I have been living here in Indianapolis, have I seen Warren with a losing season. They lost last week to Center Grove 8-5, looks like a baseball score. I would think it was a defensive battle though with a score like that. Warren gets a chance to redeem themselves tonight as they play Carmel on the road in their first Sectional game.

Basketball season is just around the corner...

Beware of the Tigers!!!

Blessings and peace,

Andre'
